<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Today I made some vintage tags that I can use in other projects.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-xhPlTp09BsM/WaMwiQKGaDI/AAAAAAAABVo/CE_a68sWAx0FHPqBXiXIYrQo0oX0-bnFQCEwYBhgL/s1600/P1000177.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="400" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-xhPlTp09BsM/WaMwiQKGaDI/AAAAAAAABVo/CE_a68sWAx0FHPqBXiXIYrQo0oX0-bnFQCEwYBhgL/s400/P1000177.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I started with a shipping tag that I bought from Staples. I covered it with Antique Linen Distress ink using a blending tool.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-di9kHt7JaZ8/WaMwmv1ftpI/AAAAAAAABVo/M_3hYiqflakBfbs5tE1DF7P9DwFQB2NXQCEwYBhgL/s1600/P1000178.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="400" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-di9kHt7JaZ8/WaMwmv1ftpI/AAAAAAAABVo/M_3hYiqflakBfbs5tE1DF7P9DwFQB2NXQCEwYBhgL/s400/P1000178.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I sporatically added Vintage photo distress on top of that. I didn't cover the entire tag.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-59r2tQdVO_k/WaMwkdRXSOI/AAAAAAAABVo/n4dN_MP64akzEpBpfv-NLz5_VPUUHjJ2QCEwYBhgL/s1600/P1000179.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="400" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-59r2tQdVO_k/WaMwkdRXSOI/AAAAAAAABVo/n4dN_MP64akzEpBpfv-NLz5_VPUUHjJ2QCEwYBhgL/s400/P1000179.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I went around the edge with Black Soot Distress.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-SaJx1I-LoVw/WaMwtk3fbhI/AAAAAAAABVo/nqrTpouJvNYlLu5kw5mw_uME6A-lzWMwwCEwYBhgL/s1600/P1000180.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="400" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-SaJx1I-LoVw/WaMwtk3fbhI/AAAAAAAABVo/nqrTpouJvNYlLu5kw5mw_uME6A-lzWMwwCEwYBhgL/s400/P1000180.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I stamped my image using a Hampton Art 7 Gypsies Scissors Stamp, with Archival Ink.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Do0JexElqcY/WaMwvKB3BaI/AAAAAAAABVs/2j-VHIdjT2UoIrxaSF1dAcHFGi8psZ7zACEwYBhgL/s1600/P1000181.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="400" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Do0JexElqcY/WaMwvKB3BaI/AAAAAAAABVs/2j-VHIdjT2UoIrxaSF1dAcHFGi8psZ7zACEwYBhgL/s400/P1000181.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I randomly stamped around the border using Stampers Anonymous Slight Alterations Stamp (CMS 060)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2TvBWWQgO2w/WaMwxWHZQCI/AAAAAAAABVs/p2JwhMM2EeExcXMW3ggHLL5QXoJc1aelgCEwYBhgL/s1600/P1000182.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="400" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2TvBWWQgO2w/WaMwxWHZQCI/AAAAAAAABVs/p2JwhMM2EeExcXMW3ggHLL5QXoJc1aelgCEwYBhgL/s400/P1000182.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
When I stamped the border, I held the stamp and rolled it as I applied pressure.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ncAtvb4XEf8/WaMwzSUc1eI/AAAAAAAABVs/yU1oFeu84Bcx_y_1lah6PxObf17zVUaqQCEwYBhgL/s1600/P1000183.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="400" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ncAtvb4XEf8/WaMwzSUc1eI/AAAAAAAABVs/yU1oFeu84Bcx_y_1lah6PxObf17zVUaqQCEwYBhgL/s400/P1000183.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
These are some additional tags that I made using the same method. I love this vintage grungy look.</div>
<br />Madhatterzhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09590443273959301344noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2019481411138028269.post-27942561355844949082016-04-09T18:36:00.000-07:002016-04-09T18:51:20.997-07:00Kiss A Frog?Since it was cold, rainy and snowy, I couldn't work in the yard. That meant, time in the craft room. Yeah! I had an idea a while ago and was able to put it all together today.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7ktJIW2r7h0/Vwmi5FNVKmI/AAAAAAAABTs/MKVID5LmzpEu9CXiBuv24Q64wfFn689Ww/s1600/IMG_3947.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7ktJIW2r7h0/Vwmi5FNVKmI/AAAAAAAABTs/MKVID5LmzpEu9CXiBuv24Q64wfFn689Ww/s400/IMG_3947.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
I started by collaging the background with the intent of making it look like a pond. I used Tim Holtz Crazing medium. I applied it using my finger because I saw a video where it seemed to craze better that way. The brush marks seem to cause the medium to craze less. I had to wait a long time for it to dry and wasn't very patient about it, BUT, it was worth it because it did "Craze" and added nice texture to the background.<br />
<br />
I took two pictures. This one with a flash, which ended up getting washed out.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-g_SHZ0Nz_So/Vwmi47c2yTI/AAAAAAAABTo/NJ8O8wWsqsgOHNuuBm6FQC5Q5m-5DJaZg/s1600/IMG_3948.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-g_SHZ0Nz_So/Vwmi47c2yTI/AAAAAAAABTo/NJ8O8wWsqsgOHNuuBm6FQC5Q5m-5DJaZg/s400/IMG_3948.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
And this one that is slightly blurry but you can see the true colors better.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-R_JfQ0XTzBE/Vwmi5d_gN-I/AAAAAAAABTw/4bc2OzHfILoubLmKfxs-dO-L9KtUnpsEg/s1600/IMG_3952.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-R_JfQ0XTzBE/Vwmi5d_gN-I/AAAAAAAABTw/4bc2OzHfILoubLmKfxs-dO-L9KtUnpsEg/s400/IMG_3952.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Y2DZXhlj99Q/VwmqURFXU6I/AAAAAAAABUQ/MHUTZmpypfMS4CO22Z6XmyVKGUVzf3J0w/s1600/GirlDoll.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Y2DZXhlj99Q/VwmqURFXU6I/AAAAAAAABUQ/MHUTZmpypfMS4CO22Z6XmyVKGUVzf3J0w/s400/GirlDoll.jpg" width="310" /></a></div>
I found this vintage Photo on the Internet and I just bought a pad of scrapbook paper called Once Upon a Time. When I saw this page:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3SmeKEZpYEY/Vwmsce3_zlI/AAAAAAAABUg/1xN0ZINFVP884BxpfRHOxTfV0_3GkiAdQ/s1600/IMG_3961.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3SmeKEZpYEY/Vwmsce3_zlI/AAAAAAAABUg/1xN0ZINFVP884BxpfRHOxTfV0_3GkiAdQ/s400/IMG_3961.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
......in the pad, I had the idea for this page. The rest is History. I used water color pencils to colorize the little girl and I cut out wild flowers using Tim Holtz Wild Flowers die. I added Stickles to the flowers, glued everything in place and shaded using Pitt Big Brush pens.<br />
<br />
This is "almost" finished, without a flash.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7PYpK_Jg2zI/Vwmi57jMMlI/AAAAAAAABT0/R0ErsIIQD7c_pGC2-1jTWqIIrgEHB-ujw/s1600/IMG_3954.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7PYpK_Jg2zI/Vwmi57jMMlI/AAAAAAAABT0/R0ErsIIQD7c_pGC2-1jTWqIIrgEHB-ujw/s400/IMG_3954.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
With a flash.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-5T7iDxlEbHo/Vwmi6I5ZOiI/AAAAAAAABT4/6QjWpJeEmlwuqxA745XAHezaNa_zKOyGQ/s1600/IMG_3955.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-5T7iDxlEbHo/Vwmi6I5ZOiI/AAAAAAAABT4/6QjWpJeEmlwuqxA745XAHezaNa_zKOyGQ/s400/IMG_3955.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
Then I decided to add a dragonfly (Tim Holtz Dragonfly Die) to the picture.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Nhy0l3PRcmU/Vwmi6RCyzlI/AAAAAAAABT8/0_tQLblfo34RPi65Wo4msh2pKjA_8mYQA/s1600/IMG_3956.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Nhy0l3PRcmU/Vwmi6RCyzlI/AAAAAAAABT8/0_tQLblfo34RPi65Wo4msh2pKjA_8mYQA/s400/IMG_3956.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
This is with a flash.<br />
<br />
This makes me giggle when I look at it.Madhatterzhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09590443273959301344noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2019481411138028269.post-47292480580069888422016-03-20T15:42:00.001-07:002016-03-20T15:43:42.929-07:00Love Trying New Techniques! Today, I Tried Two New Techniques.<br />
This is a background that was created using tags that were embossed. You can find the full tutorial <a href="http://marjiekemper.com/art-journal-with-embossed-tags-tutorial/#comment-15300" target="_blank">HERE</a>. It gives the background a LOT of texture. I also tried stamping on tissue paper and using gel medium to adhere it to the page. Not so sure I like that part. Mine looks like I glued a cut out to the page. The one from the link, blends into the background. I'm not sure what I did different. I may have to give it another go another time. I gessoed the page and used watered down acrylic paint to color the page.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-N7EZlvYB61w/Vu8hJmDVLlI/AAAAAAAABTU/SXHPP6AHwzE61qUY03z0BeWYKNpwpUz5w/s1600/IMG_3908.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-N7EZlvYB61w/Vu8hJmDVLlI/AAAAAAAABTU/SXHPP6AHwzE61qUY03z0BeWYKNpwpUz5w/s400/IMG_3908.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
Next, I die cut Sizzix "wildflowers" Thinlets. I colored them with Distress markers and then used Gel Pens to add some detail to the one that looks like lavender. I also die cut two of the Tim Holtz "Layered Dragonfly" and embossed them. I colored the body with black marker. I colored the wings with "weathered Wood Distress paint. Once the paint dried, I went over the them lightly with a sanding block. This took off some of the paint on the embossed veins of the wings. I then went over the wings with "black soot" using a blending tool. I added some highlights using gel pens and a white Signo pen. I rubbed "Crystal" Stickles over the wings for some sparkle. I used a background stamp with "coffee" Archival ink to add some more dimension to the page. I glued the two dragonflies together and then glued everything to the page using Matte Gel Medium.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gHERPk0DHpg/Vu8hJkcureI/AAAAAAAABTI/-4VnXGMQeokz3U1dsXCaphV4FbK7yrw7w/s1600/IMG_3909.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gHERPk0DHpg/Vu8hJkcureI/AAAAAAAABTI/-4VnXGMQeokz3U1dsXCaphV4FbK7yrw7w/s400/IMG_3909.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
The tissue stamped images don't look as bad on the real page as they do on this photo. They blend into the background much nicer.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-fuK6fQyG6og/Vu8hJR3VsoI/AAAAAAAABTE/3qxQhUfmS7YzeL_OlihzaDa1-IMrN1_iw/s1600/IMG_3910.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-fuK6fQyG6og/Vu8hJR3VsoI/AAAAAAAABTE/3qxQhUfmS7YzeL_OlihzaDa1-IMrN1_iw/s400/IMG_3910.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Here you can see the two dragonflies layered together for dimension.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-IIdjL2pXZ8I/Vu8hKYcYrAI/AAAAAAAABTM/rH0jTaHs5hksGKwFvXXSgbqCbCObdgcbA/s1600/IMG_3911.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-IIdjL2pXZ8I/Vu8hKYcYrAI/AAAAAAAABTM/rH0jTaHs5hksGKwFvXXSgbqCbCObdgcbA/s400/IMG_3911.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I was trying to get a good picture of the sparkle on the wings but the camera just wouldn't capture a true image.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wlikqq9hLrk/Vu8hKzTYOwI/AAAAAAAABTQ/ENPqcW0pZ-sX8Y5O0vKkSLpmYEzf76qBA/s1600/IMG_3912.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wlikqq9hLrk/Vu8hKzTYOwI/AAAAAAAABTQ/ENPqcW0pZ-sX8Y5O0vKkSLpmYEzf76qBA/s400/IMG_3912.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
On to the second technique.<br />
<br />
I have always wanted to try image transfer but thought I had to have an image from a Laser printer....But, I saw a video from <a href="https://youtu.be/VSQKIz37IQI?list=PL28iX4WXSzMO1sIshaYdqnfuh-1FAhJN6" target="_blank">Donna Downey</a> that showed you could transfer an image from an ink jet printer. I took two pictures because taking it with the flash washed out the image. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-UMOlnsdWpYw/Vu8XhZ5huxI/AAAAAAAABSw/TSCBbPSre78g9ZwrAS_MRbP3B7U8m7uIQ/s1600/IMG_3913.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-UMOlnsdWpYw/Vu8XhZ5huxI/AAAAAAAABSw/TSCBbPSre78g9ZwrAS_MRbP3B7U8m7uIQ/s400/IMG_3913.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
This is with the flash. It is hard to see my vintage lady.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-k-5oAIZTpKU/Vu8XhB9BedI/AAAAAAAABSs/Bx3h1lhpc-IrR3kbn7oT7HJfdlnaaWlIQ/s1600/IMG_3915.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-k-5oAIZTpKU/Vu8XhB9BedI/AAAAAAAABSs/Bx3h1lhpc-IrR3kbn7oT7HJfdlnaaWlIQ/s400/IMG_3915.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
This is without the flash. It gives a truer picture of the color. I love how not all of the image transferred. It gives it an old photograph look to it. I love Donna Downey's how to videos. If you haven't checked her out I strongly suggest you do. She is loaded with ideas and techniques that will keep you busy.Madhatterzhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09590443273959301344noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2019481411138028269.post-25233820270739609892016-02-28T12:47:00.000-08:002016-02-28T12:51:28.404-08:00I've Been Up To Something New......For Me Anyway!My sister sent me a pin through Pinterest of this<a href="https://youtu.be/W9nqGfogpvM" target="_blank"> VIDEO</a> for making "Flower Bead Charms". I had no intentions of making any type of jewelry or charms. Fist thing is that I just don't wear jewelry, so what would the point be to make any? And second, I thought that it was too complicated for me AND did I really need another craft area that would cause me to spend more money and add to my already over stuffed craft room? WELL....after watching the video and seeing how easy she made it look, I got excited and went to the store and bought out the bead and jewelry making supplies. LOL.<br />
<br />
The thing is, my sister (who live way too far away from me) has always added charms and dangles to her scrapbooks and I have always loved the look and feel of them. Visit her blog <a href="http://www.vickiespixiedust.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">HERE</a> to see her work. BUT, I didn't think that I would be able to do it....until the video. I love these dangles and each one will find a home on a journal or key chain.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VguN1U7YoDg/VtNUcOQTonI/AAAAAAAABSE/UzS_AICg54g/s1600/IMG_3886.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VguN1U7YoDg/VtNUcOQTonI/AAAAAAAABSE/UzS_AICg54g/s400/IMG_3886.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
This was my first attempt and I LOVE IT. I was so proud of myself and love the look of it. It's so vintage looking. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ZIAE_Ik-J-c/VtNUbsPVyMI/AAAAAAAABSA/U3QYNDrneZ4/s1600/IMG_3887.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ZIAE_Ik-J-c/VtNUbsPVyMI/AAAAAAAABSA/U3QYNDrneZ4/s400/IMG_3887.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
Then came this dangle that will be added to something<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-IQtp8LbldAs/VtNUcFat3jI/AAAAAAAABSI/TBkDHqRjRqM/s1600/IMG_3889.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-IQtp8LbldAs/VtNUcFat3jI/AAAAAAAABSI/TBkDHqRjRqM/s400/IMG_3889.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
This will be added to a key chain. See that Lobster Claw clasp, yeah I did that (smile).<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-elfkJi2QumI/VtNUck7ymsI/AAAAAAAABSM/5bggdtWHry4/s1600/IMG_3890.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-elfkJi2QumI/VtNUck7ymsI/AAAAAAAABSM/5bggdtWHry4/s400/IMG_3890.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
As I was looking at all the selections in the bead section, I found these wings that looked like dragonfly wings. So, I decided to make one. So adorable!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1FUDxArNzmM/VtNUc6FWPoI/AAAAAAAABSQ/60nwXZnSxH4/s1600/IMG_3893.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1FUDxArNzmM/VtNUc6FWPoI/AAAAAAAABSQ/60nwXZnSxH4/s400/IMG_3893.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
I was into making crazy quilts for a while and I had some beads from that project. Making spiders on crazy quilts is considered good luck. These beads were intended for that purpose. However, they are now turned into some other kind of bug. I don't know WHAT kind of bug but if that was flying around me, I'd be sure to scream. I only like fake bugs!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-UbYjQ7vqf6g/VtNUgm6XV5I/AAAAAAAABSU/UQr-bh0AFfM/s1600/IMG_3884.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-UbYjQ7vqf6g/VtNUgm6XV5I/AAAAAAAABSU/UQr-bh0AFfM/s400/IMG_3884.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
This is a group shot of everything that I have made so far. But you can bet that I will be making more and showing them off on my blog. Thank you Vickie for sharing that with me.Madhatterzhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09590443273959301344noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2019481411138028269.post-31903883570533617512016-01-24T13:24:00.001-08:002016-01-26T11:01:19.360-08:00I Love, Love, Love This Page This page in my journal is very personal, which is one of the many reasons that I love it. I had an old picture of my grandfather and I wanted to use
the Tim Holtz cabinet card die to display it in my journal. I won't go into all the
methods that I used because honestly I don't think that I could
remember. One thing led to another and then another.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-XKUL7wKWk5Q/VqfCIRaPcQI/AAAAAAAABRk/5kLHtEa3Mic/s1600/IMG_3872.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-XKUL7wKWk5Q/VqfCIRaPcQI/AAAAAAAABRk/5kLHtEa3Mic/s400/IMG_3872.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I used Tim Holtz cabinet die and the mini "movers and shapers" cabinet die to create the cabinet card on this page. To see how I cut out the pieces using these two dies, check out the video <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYYwBzowf7I" target="_blank">HERE</a>. She gives a very easy explanation.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-M4ojJUcdNzU/VqU1VF0UOOI/AAAAAAAABRI/5uAfyJDSakE/s1600/IMG_3869.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-M4ojJUcdNzU/VqU1VF0UOOI/AAAAAAAABRI/5uAfyJDSakE/s400/IMG_3869.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I will explain some of the details that I used. The letters
above the card are his initials. I used Rock Candy crackle on them to age them a bit. I stamped the year that my grandfather was born on the front cover.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TAYGaz7CP1A/VqfCIjMdDnI/AAAAAAAABRw/r7dBAhcxYiM/s1600/IMG_3873.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TAYGaz7CP1A/VqfCIjMdDnI/AAAAAAAABRw/r7dBAhcxYiM/s400/IMG_3873.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This is a closer look at the front cover. I covered chip board with some scrapbook paper that looked like old leather. I would love to take credit for making it look like worn leather but luckly for me it is just the way it came. The pocket watch is a stamp that I stamped on some scrapbook paper and used a Perfect Medium Pen, went around the outside of the watch and embossed it with Pirate's Gold embossing powder. My sister gave me some watch faces and they were a perfect fit. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-s7JO0LBf57I/VqU1AovVYFI/AAAAAAAABRA/4pmlFOrqOZk/s1600/IMG_3867.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-s7JO0LBf57I/VqU1AovVYFI/AAAAAAAABRA/4pmlFOrqOZk/s400/IMG_3867.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
Here is the inside of the card. My handsome Grandfather probably in his early 20's. Some of the methods that I used putting this together were new to me and I did learn that vellum does not work well with glue. Hence the bubbles in the images on the left.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-YHQ8tX20jF0/VqU1AkzBxMI/AAAAAAAABRE/tSZ1jOPSHYc/s1600/IMG_3870.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-YHQ8tX20jF0/VqU1AkzBxMI/AAAAAAAABRE/tSZ1jOPSHYc/s400/IMG_3870.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
A closer look. Although I was extremely disappointed when it happened, now I think it give it character.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I chose a "Dream" charm to add because I thought that this picture was taken before he had made any decisions about the path of his life. I wonder if at this moment he new that he was going to go to law school, become a lawyer and eventually aspire to be a District Court Judge.Madhatterzhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09590443273959301344noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2019481411138028269.post-71260448591713657472016-01-17T17:06:00.000-08:002016-01-17T17:13:49.312-08:00Some Journal Fun On A Snowy Day<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-sszWDQG1JYM/Vpwv1UBPlWI/AAAAAAAABP4/0FteZszfBTg/s1600/IMG_3863.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-sszWDQG1JYM/Vpwv1UBPlWI/AAAAAAAABP4/0FteZszfBTg/s400/IMG_3863.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
I did this page a while ago and didn't have time to post it. It is my fist try at Steampunk. I'm happy with it. It could probably use some more grunging up or something but it is as steampunk as I could get.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QA2bCkdLwlo/Vpwv8U42iAI/AAAAAAAABQA/ey33fg2EK4A/s1600/IMG_3860.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QA2bCkdLwlo/Vpwv8U42iAI/AAAAAAAABQA/ey33fg2EK4A/s400/IMG_3860.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
This is a tag that I did using a method I saw on the internet. First I used some scrapbook paper and covered a tag that I had. I blended Vintage Photo around the edges and smudged it over the tag. I used a stamp and black archival ink around the edge. Then I went around the edge of the tag with a gold leaving pen.<br />
<br />
I used Ferro "Metal Effects" Modeling Paste through a key stencil. Then I went over it using Viva Modeling Creme (Mother of Pearl). I let that dry, which surprisingly didn't take long at all. Then I used Silks acrylic glaze (Nutmeg) with my finger and I lightly tapped this on the areas of the Modeling Creme. I love the way the key looks. Nice and old and gungy.<br />
<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I added some scrap lace to the bottom and some ribbon that was
originally off white but I colored it with Distress spray Vintage Photo. </div>

This cute little girl I found <a href="http://www.vintag.es/2013/07/interesting-vintage-photos-of-baby.html" target="_blank">HERE</a> (the page is photo intensive and takes a little while to load) As soon as I saw her I thought of the child's poem "Mary had a little lamb and wanted to do a page based on that. I did a search for school houses and I found this (<a href="http://www.governing.com/blogs/view/Not-All-Schools-Are.html" target="_blank">HERE)</a>:</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I copy and pasted this picture into Microsoft Word and sized it to fit the page that I was using. I cut out the desks and half of the chalk board. I covered my background with scrapbook paper and added some stamping. I embossed a clock stamp using a mixture of black and copper embossing powder. I love how it turned out. I don't think the picture does it justice. Then I inked the edges with Vintage Photo ink. I colored the little girl using Distress markers and a water brush and glued everything in place. I only glued the sides and the bottom of the desks, leaving the top open so that I would be able to insert a tag. I wrote Mary had a little lamb, added some ribbon to the top and glued some paper flowers to the top of the tag and placed it inside the desks. So cute, if I do say so myself.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Isn't she something? I collaged the background with various scraps of scrapbook paper using a gel medium. I went over the whole background with Tea Dye Distress ink, then around the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I covered the entire background with a coat of Gel medium to seal the distress ink. I pieced the lady using a photo I found on the Internet and Tim Holtz Caged Bird Die. I cut the bird cage from chip board and covered it with embossing ink. I coated it withe Recollections Pirate's Gold embossing powder and heated it. I love the look of the Pirate's Gold! Once I tried the lady to the cage, I thought it was a little too big, therefore I cut off the outer two bars of the cage. Much better! Then I added some legs that I found on some printable paper dolls that I found on the Internet. I LOVE her! Then I went through my stash and found all the butterflies. I added the flowers. I typed the quote in Microsoft Word, printed it, cut it into strips and colored them using Scattered Straw Distress Stains. Once they were dry, I used a black Sarpie pen and drew a boarder around each and glued them down. I think it turned out pretty nice.Madhatterzhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09590443273959301344noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2019481411138028269.post-25091543380787843242015-10-14T14:26:00.000-07:002015-10-14T14:26:08.234-07:00I Love A Good Fairy Tale.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Isn't she sweet? She looks so dismayed. I can't even begin to say how the background was done as it was several mistakes...or attempts that I didn't like and covered over with gesso to start another try. The pictures are from various images found on the Internet. The gold border are flourish stamps embossed with gold. I added gold flourish to the pumpkin with a gold metallic pen. The rays for the moon were done with a white signo pen but It looked too odd so I went over it with a yellow alcohol marker. The saying says, Once upon a time, this pumpkin was a coach, the mice were horses and I had TWO shoes..." Someone had quite a night out!<br />
<br />
Oh, the little girl was a black and white photo that I printed on white cardstock. I colorized her using water color crayons and a water brush. I enhanced her facial features using Distress markers. Then I went around the edges of her with Vintage photo distress ink.Madhatterzhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09590443273959301344noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2019481411138028269.post-25991211148357186592015-10-12T09:38:00.000-07:002015-10-12T09:38:29.439-07:00Happy Halloween!<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I haven't added anything to my blog since March! Wow! Spring came and I played in my garden, went on vacation and dealt with other events in life. As the cooler weather is coming so is the desire to be back in the craft room. What better way to start than with Halloween.This was created with various images found on the internet, Tim Holtz Houses die, fence, cat, and bat from a Cricut cartridge. Background was Distress inks with random stamping. I had a lot of fun and love the Gargoyles on the house, the little trick or treater's and the skeleton man.</div>

<br />
This was so much fun and so relaxing to do. Almost everything on here was a stamp of some sort. I added a little doodling to some of the stamps so that they dripped and oozed a little more. The flowers are from the Tim Holtz Flower Garland die. Everything is colored using Distress and Copic markers and the background was colored with Gelatos and gone over with a water brush. The saying was typed, printed, cut, colored and glued. It's so cute but yet so gross! LOL.<br />
<br />
It was done on plain white card stock. If I were to do something like this again, I would probably use water color paper. <a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-OW7tjZquDk4/VPNxoEsSKJI/AAAAAAAABMQ/O-4Jz2lXytY/s1600/IMG_2876.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-OW7tjZquDk4/VPNxoEsSKJI/AAAAAAAABMQ/O-4Jz2lXytY/s1600/IMG_2876.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
The pieces that cut out for these items can be quite intricate and extremely small. So small that I kept losing them on my work table. That is why I decided to use a bit of my bling for the bottom of the wings.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-QvVkEQObez0/VPNx0bfDtXI/AAAAAAAABMg/u64PSTrVMNQ/s1600/IMG_2868.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-QvVkEQObez0/VPNx0bfDtXI/AAAAAAAABMg/u64PSTrVMNQ/s1600/IMG_2868.JPG" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
Next came two dragonflies. The blue-green one was cut at three inches as suggested but seemed way too big. I cut it a second time at 2 1/2. I liked this size better.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-tX-9FSAViXs/VPNxzNwGXHI/AAAAAAAABMY/BUhAVfyN5V8/s1600/IMG_2869.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-tX-9FSAViXs/VPNxzNwGXHI/AAAAAAAABMY/BUhAVfyN5V8/s1600/IMG_2869.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-m_Z8NmENN2s/VPNx1IteKDI/AAAAAAAABMo/hefLt7-JpbM/s1600/IMG_2870.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-m_Z8NmENN2s/VPNx1IteKDI/AAAAAAAABMo/hefLt7-JpbM/s1600/IMG_2870.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I used "Rock Candy" Crackle Paint on the wings. When it dried I gave it a dusting of Perfect Pearls to give it an iridescent look. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jUDmXJTA1A8/VPNx3K0RbnI/AAAAAAAABM0/RU9anAGvxAk/s1600/IMG_2872.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jUDmXJTA1A8/VPNx3K0RbnI/AAAAAAAABM0/RU9anAGvxAk/s1600/IMG_2872.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
For this one I cut the underside of the wing from a glitter yellow green piece of scrapbook paper.. Both came out cute and will find a place somewhere in my crafting.<br />
<br />
I do have to say that some of the cutouts can be very, very tricky to put together. I ended up not using some pieces either because they were too small or I didn't like the way they looked. The other dilemma I had was gluing the pieces together. I got glue everywhere and made a big mess.<br />
<br />
I would love to read any comments.Madhatterzhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09590443273959301344noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2019481411138028269.post-54236895817788888972015-02-22T11:42:00.000-08:002015-02-22T13:20:43.356-08:00I Am Excited That This Turned Out As Well As It Did!I saw a technique on Pinterest and thought it looked intriguing and I gave it a try. I couldn't find the video or tutorial or whatever it was but I figured it wasn't that complicated and I could remember the steps. I used Gesso that I added some color to. I can't remember what I used for color because I did this page about a month ago and I hated how it turned out. Basically, I scraped the colored Gesso through a stencil using a very thick coat. When it dried the next day, I had no idea where I was going to go with the page so it sat and sat and sat some more.... Until today.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lhZY1XwtlGM/VOojnitUr4I/AAAAAAAABLY/kj6UElNKBQM/s1600/IMG_2855.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lhZY1XwtlGM/VOojnitUr4I/AAAAAAAABLY/kj6UElNKBQM/s1600/IMG_2855.JPG" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
When I opened my journal to this page all of the sudden I thought it looked like a tree. So I got my Walnut Stain Distress pen and colored the white space of the stencil. I should have taken a picture before I did the brown so you could see how plain it looked.. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-MjEpcvvyXk8/VOokJI1SfTI/AAAAAAAABL4/CcJK1ipwLag/s1600/IMG_2862.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-MjEpcvvyXk8/VOokJI1SfTI/AAAAAAAABL4/CcJK1ipwLag/s1600/IMG_2862.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<br />
Then I used TH Gardern Greens Die and cut several leafy branches. I colored them with Peeled Paint Distress Markers and the colored the branch part of it with Walnut Stain. This way it would match the branches of my tree. After they were colored I used the word stamp with Vintage photo to add some texture to the leaves.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QlYIIpkDdx0/VOojou9kmTI/AAAAAAAABLs/_DtH3BwaZdc/s1600/IMG_2867.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QlYIIpkDdx0/VOojou9kmTI/AAAAAAAABLs/_DtH3BwaZdc/s1600/IMG_2867.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I used this die and cut it from white card stock. I cut two of the birds off and colored them using Distress Stains and a water brush. I distressed the outside of the birds with /Walnut Stain. I cut the "Garden Greens" leaves and glued them to the page <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-nE9gQmtkMbo/VOojndtB3_I/AAAAAAAABLg/OOI5ZMU365E/s1600/IMG_2864.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-nE9gQmtkMbo/VOojndtB3_I/AAAAAAAABLg/OOI5ZMU365E/s1600/IMG_2864.JPG" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
This is the final product. I added the bird nest by cutting up some threads that I pulled from some burlap. I stained some of them using "Walnut Stain" Distress stains. I glued the nest in place with Tacky glue and shaped it as it was drying. The eggs for the nest came from some items in my stash. I also took my "Stormy Sky" Distress pen and outlined the background around the branches and rubbed it with my finger to give it a little more color and definition.<br />
<br />
I really like how it turned out considering I thought I was going to trash this page.Madhatterzhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09590443273959301344noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2019481411138028269.post-49486244476207482622015-02-15T14:59:00.001-08:002015-02-15T15:49:49.656-08:00Window TreatmentsI started my project with the thought that I wanted to use the Tim Holtz Window & Window Box Die. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-sH3vJ11TCdQ/VOEhBUArnsI/AAAAAAAABKc/e3vquVrhOaU/s1600/IMG_2844.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-sH3vJ11TCdQ/VOEhBUArnsI/AAAAAAAABKc/e3vquVrhOaU/s1600/IMG_2844.JPG" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Then I added a window topper using Cricut Ornamental Iron 2 (I
cut it at 4 1/2). I cut it all from black paper and used a white Signo
pen to add highlights to all the creases on the window and window box. I
also added highlights to the wrought Iron top with the Signo pen. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-jDduFqMzhJU/VOElrYBD0tI/AAAAAAAABKs/siSHUwwYNWI/s1600/IMG_2845.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-jDduFqMzhJU/VOElrYBD0tI/AAAAAAAABKs/siSHUwwYNWI/s1600/IMG_2845.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xgXwAN5ejJ8/VOEam2kBnZI/AAAAAAAABJo/oLROfVa2F1s/s1600/2926212844_2e56113626.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZpXbaukWKN4/VOEavBDQ2TI/AAAAAAAABJ4/hV0jQJRXnV8/s1600/IMG_2840.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZpXbaukWKN4/VOEavBDQ2TI/AAAAAAAABJ4/hV0jQJRXnV8/s1600/IMG_2840.JPG" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
.<br />
I did the background using brick red acrylic paint that I dabbed through a brick stencil. I sponged on some brown on top of the red. I dried everything with a heat tool and used Vintage Photo and Walnut stain Distress ink over the brick to fill in the spaces between the bricks.<br />
<br />
I stuck the window topper, window and window box to the page using bits of foam tape. The white foam tape really stood out on the wrought iron window topper so I used my black Pitt brush pen and colored the foam of the tape black and presto you don't even notice it now.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xgXwAN5ejJ8/VOEam2kBnZI/AAAAAAAABJo/oLROfVa2F1s/s1600/2926212844_2e56113626.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xgXwAN5ejJ8/VOEam2kBnZI/AAAAAAAABJo/oLROfVa2F1s/s1600/2926212844_2e56113626.jpg" height="400" width="306" /></a></div>
<br />
I used this photo that I found on the Internet for the view inside my window. I glued some lace curtains with some lace trim that I had in my stash. Then I glued the window to the picture. I had to cut the bottom of the picture off to fit the window<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-apTQ4JNGFiY/VOEfxBuPAMI/AAAAAAAABKM/CgrDQxx7Akw/s1600/IMG_2792.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-apTQ4JNGFiY/VOEfxBuPAMI/AAAAAAAABKM/CgrDQxx7Akw/s1600/IMG_2792.JPG" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
Then I used my two favorite Martha Stewart punches to add greenery and flowers to the window box. I cut strips of each punch from white card stock an colored them with Peeled paint distress marker. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Ku-M-RdfmoM/VOEau_drUYI/AAAAAAAABJ0/wlTgIe2vNM0/s1600/IMG_2838.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Ku-M-RdfmoM/VOEau_drUYI/AAAAAAAABJ0/wlTgIe2vNM0/s1600/IMG_2838.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I used my distress markers in Wild Honey, Fire Brick and Scattered Straw to color the flowers After I colored the strips of flowers, I cut the flowers from the vine so that I could add them randomly through the greenery. I used this stamp and Vintage photo distress ink on the flowers and vine. I also used Tim Holtz<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Ca-sIBVleVA/VOEhBBfbFvI/AAAAAAAABKg/hwA7o_-ROak/s1600/IMG_2842.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Ca-sIBVleVA/VOEhBBfbFvI/AAAAAAAABKg/hwA7o_-ROak/s1600/IMG_2842.JPG" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
Garden Greens die to add a variety to the mix of leaves. I colored this with a marker of a yellow green color. (I don't know the name of the markers. Just some random markers in my stash.) I added some stamping to this also. Then I cut everything to fit in the box and glued everything where I wanted it. As a final touch, I added bling to the center of each flow.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-EyAsWIa7sgM/VOEvQL7Ku9I/AAAAAAAABLE/AizPogTHoN0/s1600/1birdrobin.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-EyAsWIa7sgM/VOEvQL7Ku9I/AAAAAAAABLE/AizPogTHoN0/s1600/1birdrobin.JPG" height="400" width="352" /></a></div>
<br />
Then I added this little bird...also fund on the Internet. I copy and paste him into a Word document. Then I sized him to fit in with my page by grabbing the corner grab bar on the image. Once he was the size I wanted, I grabbed the left grab bar on the image and pulled it to the right, which gives me the mirror image. I cut him out and glued him in position and this is the final page:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-cwc51lBc0L0/VOEvJvzaNLI/AAAAAAAABLA/PjTy5thV-TI/s1600/IMG_2846.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-cwc51lBc0L0/VOEvJvzaNLI/AAAAAAAABLA/PjTy5thV-TI/s1600/IMG_2846.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />

<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-i_pnal1caDc/VM6Y8rermtI/AAAAAAAABJU/S5TlFqcE0Lc/s1600/1914cry_bloomers.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-i_pnal1caDc/VM6Y8rermtI/AAAAAAAABJU/S5TlFqcE0Lc/s1600/1914cry_bloomers.jpg" height="320" width="263" /></a></div>
This is another Vintage photo that I found on the Internet. When I saw
her it made me think of the children's song, Little Sally Ann. I cut her out and colorized her with water color crayons.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-apK5ODrruEU/VM6XMQuG6mI/AAAAAAAABJE/PKoj4vz0GyQ/s1600/IMG_2832.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-apK5ODrruEU/VM6XMQuG6mI/AAAAAAAABJE/PKoj4vz0GyQ/s1600/IMG_2832.JPG" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
Then I thought, surely someone on the Internet has found a way to make sand. I did a few searches and Of Course, Tim Holtz has a great tutorial on how to make sand <a href="http://timholtz.com/12-tags-of-2014-july/" target="_blank">HERE</a> He did it on a tag and I wanted it for my journal. I wasn't sure how well it would come out but I think the end result is pretty good. My sand isn't done drying yet. I was too excited and wanted to get it posted.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jSgqYFusJf0/VM6XL8ARpKI/AAAAAAAABJA/qclg6wElQ5k/s1600/IMG_2833.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jSgqYFusJf0/VM6XL8ARpKI/AAAAAAAABJA/qclg6wElQ5k/s1600/IMG_2833.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
This is a closer picture of the sand.<br />

He is from the Cricut "Art Nouveau" cartridge. I think he is adorable but I didn't know what I was going to do with him.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-W2LzbyI_lFg/VM0g6hMRwBI/AAAAAAAABIc/8BbbPuvwPYI/s1600/IMG_2809.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-W2LzbyI_lFg/VM0g6hMRwBI/AAAAAAAABIc/8BbbPuvwPYI/s1600/IMG_2809.JPG" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
This is what I ended up doing....<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Wdh6kD14RaM/VM0g6ryLmfI/AAAAAAAABIY/yjRsYHm9iew/s1600/IMG_2831.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Wdh6kD14RaM/VM0g6ryLmfI/AAAAAAAABIY/yjRsYHm9iew/s1600/IMG_2831.JPG" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
I LOVE it! I started by covering the page with a sheet of scrapbook paper from "Vintage Essentials" The paper is like tissue paper. It is very thin and fragile. I used Matte medium to stick it to the page. If you look close you can see in the bottom left corner, that the paper tore. I figured this would be added texture and kept on going. In the past, this would have made me think the page was ruined and I would have torn it out of the book. So I am learning that sometimes mistakes add to the beauty of the finished picture.<br />
<br />
Next, I used some stencils and distress inks to the background. The stenciling was very subtle and you have to look close to see it. I found the poem on Pinterest and typed it up. I tore it out and used the same colors of distress inks on it. I went around the edge with Walnut stain.<br />
<br />
I used Sizzix Honeycomb die to cut a couple from cardboard. Then I cut sections off of one of the die cuts and glued the two pieces together to give it this shape. I added a couple of the punchout pieces of the die to the top. I randomly coated the Honey come with Perfect Medium embossing ink. Then I used a mixture of Antique Linen" and "Vintage Photo" distress embossing powder. One I heated the embossing powder, I thought it looked like a pale yellow, which wasn't the look that I was going for. So I went over it with Spiced Marmalade. I glued the honeycomb to the page and added the bee using foam tape to make him pop on the page. I added the flowers that I made using the Tattered Flower Garland Die. I cute them from scrapbook paper and distressed them with a little Vintage Photo. They are held together with a brad that I added a little bling to. The leaves are from my Martha Stewart edge punch below. I use this a lot too.<br />
<br />

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">This week has been filled with a lot of emotional turmoil and stress, both at home and work. It seems to have really taken a toll on me. So I blocked out the world by turning off my phone and shutting myself in my craft room to play for a while</span>.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PA-w3K2f_Ck/VMUy-vWK_BI/AAAAAAAABHw/q4yGlOzBXB0/s1600/IMG_2819.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PA-w3K2f_Ck/VMUy-vWK_BI/AAAAAAAABHw/q4yGlOzBXB0/s1600/IMG_2819.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I have had Dina Wakely's "Scribbly Birds" Stamps for a while and I have been dying to play with them. They are so adorable! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I inked the background with Peacock Feathers and Peeled Paint distress inks using a blender tool. Then I splashed water on it, let it sit for a minute and blotted it with a paper towel. I went over the pages again with Peacock Feathers ink. Then I stamped the birds on white card stock. I colored them with Tombow markers and blended the colors with a water brush. I used my white Signo pen to go around the eyes and to define the highlight of the eye. Then I cut the Sizzix Die "Branch w/Leaves" out of white card stock. I cut three of these. I used one for each page and the third one I cut in pieces to add more leaves and berries to the branches. Notice the page with the bird facing front has more leaves behind the bird.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I colored the Branch's, leaves and berries with my Tombow markers. Then I turned </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
the branches over on a piece of Fun Foam and used an embossing stylus to create lines in the leaves. Afterwards I used a blending tool with "Tea Dye" ink over the leaves, berries and branches. This was to give definition to the leaves and to tone down the bright color of the markers. I glued the sections of branches and berries together and added the highlight to each berry with a white paint pen.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I cut my little birdies out and glued them on the branches. I cut two tags using my trusty tag punch.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Ymnke_fazAs/VMU6_7Yg9TI/AAAAAAAABH8/4LLuqZyMEeI/s1600/IMG_1282.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Ymnke_fazAs/VMU6_7Yg9TI/AAAAAAAABH8/4LLuqZyMEeI/s1600/IMG_1282.JPG" height="300" width="400" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I LOVE this punch and use it ALL the time. For the first tag, I glued a piece of scrapbook paper to some white card stock. The second one, I cut the word "HOPE" from white card stock, using the Tim Holtz "Movers and Shapers" die. Then I used the tag punch, centered it over the word and cut the second tag. The one shown in this picture wasn't centered very well....oops.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5I8G6u9FjIs/VMU_Jf9-jiI/AAAAAAAABII/WgrGIp88-1g/s1600/IMG_2827.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5I8G6u9FjIs/VMU_Jf9-jiI/AAAAAAAABII/WgrGIp88-1g/s1600/IMG_2827.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
I used Wild Honey and Spiced Marmalade Distress inks to color the "Hope" tag. I distressed the newsprint tag with Vintage Photo and glued the two tags together. I used a black Pitt Pen to outline the word Hope and give it a little more definition. I distressed the edges of the tag, added an eyelet and a ribbon and glued it in my journal. I added the quote "Hope is the only thing stronger than fear" from the movie "The Hunger Games". To finish I went around the edges of each page with Vintage photo" using a blending tool.<br />
<br />
I would love to read your thoughts and comments.<br />

<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ONIAVJ0jYHc/VLwUFSgGJ1I/AAAAAAAABGc/oBdpVjdwyiI/s1600/IMG_2803.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ONIAVJ0jYHc/VLwUFSgGJ1I/AAAAAAAABGc/oBdpVjdwyiI/s1600/IMG_2803.JPG" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
I did this page specifically because I wanted to use the water droplet stamp by <a href="http://youtu.be/XUUvQsypIyE" target="_blank">Ryn</a>. I used Dylusion spray inks for the background and then stamped the water droplet in archival ink. I went over the center of each water droplet with a water brush and then blotted with a paper towel as shown in the "Ryn" link above. I then put a dot of white paint on each water droplet. I would normally use my Signo white pen for this but Ryn suggested using white paint for a crisper look.<br />
<br />
I stamped a butterfly and a dragon fly and colored them in with distress markers. Then I painted over the image with Rock Candy Crackle paint and set it aside to dry. I had the violet in my stash. I believe it was made using a Sizzix Die and was colored with Distress Markers. I punched a border with a Martha Steward edge punch and colored it with....you guessed it....Distress Markers. I LOVE them. Then I cut out the butterfly and dragon fly. I stamped them on the page where I wanted them and glued the center of each cut image on top. This way the wings curl up and the stamped image below creates a shadow.<br />
<br />
I didn't have a flat surface when I was stamping the water droplets and didn't get a clear image on the bottom. Something to watch out for in the future.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xTce95LtsWU/VLwUCrY99MI/AAAAAAAABGM/CIlWVEvxk04/s1600/IMG_2805.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xTce95LtsWU/VLwUCrY99MI/AAAAAAAABGM/CIlWVEvxk04/s1600/IMG_2805.JPG" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
I wanted to use my Cricut Expressions "Folk Art" Cartridge and made these whimsical little farm animals and the birdhouse. The birdhouse is actually a house but I cut it an inch big and thought that it would make a great bird house.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-XeuLT-b5vKs/VLwe9tCk1wI/AAAAAAAABG8/2DkVdVL4V1I/s1600/IMG_2812.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-XeuLT-b5vKs/VLwe9tCk1wI/AAAAAAAABG8/2DkVdVL4V1I/s1600/IMG_2812.JPG" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
I used the Tim Holtz Lamp Post die and cut two of them. I cut
the light off and turned one upside down and glued them together.<br />
<br />
To cover the mark where they are glued together I made a flowery vine. The
flowers are from Tattered Flower Garland die,colored with distress
markers and a little bling dot added to the center. <br />
<br />
I glued the flowers in place first, then used the leafy vine, Martha Steward edge punch. I had to snip off a few branches to get it
to wind around the flowers.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wHdYZEgUcSU/VLwfZG7nq_I/AAAAAAAABHE/8fiCViaiRh8/s1600/IMG_2811.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wHdYZEgUcSU/VLwfZG7nq_I/AAAAAAAABHE/8fiCViaiRh8/s1600/IMG_2811.JPG" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zM2yF9fe3aA/VLwUIFP9l3I/AAAAAAAABGw/-b19nJf5ryw/s1600/IMG_2809.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zM2yF9fe3aA/VLwUIFP9l3I/AAAAAAAABGw/-b19nJf5ryw/s1600/IMG_2809.JPG" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
While I had my Cricut up and running I also decided to cut this bee from the Art Nouveau cartridge. The gray part on the wings were cut from white card stock. I then used Copic markers (C3 Cool Gray) to color the wings. After that, I gave them a good coating of Rock Candy Crackle Paint. The picture doesn't show it very well but the wings look really cool. After I assembled the bee, I thought the yellow and orange card sock that I used was way to bright for my taste. So I went over it with Vintage Photo Distress ink and a blending tool. I added some bling to his eyes and whala he is done. I love, love, love him and can't wait to find a project to add him to.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-IuF1FNIo8Cs/VLwUD9pNkxI/AAAAAAAABGU/M4nnx8C3VwE/s1600/IMG_2807.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-IuF1FNIo8Cs/VLwUD9pNkxI/AAAAAAAABGU/M4nnx8C3VwE/s1600/IMG_2807.JPG" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
Wow, what can I say about this except that it didn't work out the way I had hoped.<br />
<br />
I started out with a page that I had used to clean my stencil from another project. Then I used Crackle Paste through the card stock remanent from the Moon and Stars Die cut. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XXIEjBQncXU/VLwpGgF4JCI/AAAAAAAABHc/f2ltyqbnuaM/s1600/IMG_2815.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XXIEjBQncXU/VLwpGgF4JCI/AAAAAAAABHc/f2ltyqbnuaM/s1600/IMG_2815.JPG" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
The paste didn't crackle like I thought it would. But, I decided to persevere. I colored the moon and stars by squeezing distress ink daubers to my craft mat and used a paint brush to apply it to the paste. This way I had a little control while applying the ink. I used a Copic Marker (Y35) to add dimension to the moon and give the appearance of craters. I used a gold pen to outline the moon and the stars to try to give it some definition.<br />
<br />
Then I thought the moon and the stars looked too much alike. I covered each of the stars with gesso and let it dy. Then I went back and colored each star using Copic marker (Y11). I added various stencils and then wrote the When you wish upon a star.....with a black Pitt pen and outlined this with my gold pen.<br />
<br />
The page doesn't look as bad and jumbled as this picture makes it look. It isn't one of my favorite pages but I had fun experimenting with different products.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-c7bGgmDLZJA/VLwUGniAk7I/AAAAAAAABGk/W4LtkY_VvPo/s1600/IMG_2808.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-c7bGgmDLZJA/VLwUGniAk7I/AAAAAAAABGk/W4LtkY_VvPo/s1600/IMG_2808.JPG" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
This one........welllllllllllllll. it is the opposite page of the Moon and Stars above and was also started from a page that was used to clean off a stencil from a previous project. I then used this set of stamps from Hero Arts to fill the background using different color inks.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wqm4-vSdxXI/VLwfZa0Ga_I/AAAAAAAABHQ/dLi16VSMiOA/s1600/IMG_2814.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wqm4-vSdxXI/VLwfZa0Ga_I/AAAAAAAABHQ/dLi16VSMiOA/s1600/IMG_2814.JPG" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
Then I used various mini stamps to fill each of the shapes. I used a black pen and outlined each of the squares. I used an Inktense water color pencil to fill in the background and then went over this with a water brush.<br />
<br />
The original stencil in the background hides some of the stamping and makes the whole thing look too busy. But, again, I had fun doing it and I used some stamps that I hadn't even tried before so that was fun.Madhatterzhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09590443273959301344noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2019481411138028269.post-88397908786628595572014-12-28T15:48:00.000-08:002014-12-28T15:55:08.837-08:00So Much Done Today!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I found the picture of this little boy through Pinterest and as soon as I saw him I thought of this childhood rhyme. You can find the picture <a href="http://myfotolog.tumblr.com/post/20796836229" target="_blank">HERE</a>.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YJz9TYaTcJ4/VKCYMJTUi5I/AAAAAAAABF8/-Pu32JzbTis/s1600/IMG_2798.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YJz9TYaTcJ4/VKCYMJTUi5I/AAAAAAAABF8/-Pu32JzbTis/s1600/IMG_2798.JPG" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
I used Tim Holtz Distress Paint Daubers (Peeled Paint and Broken China) to start the background. I added various stencils using TH Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain distress Ink. The wrought Iron fence was done by using an edge stamp and adding lines for the fence using a Pitt pen. I don't know the name of the stamp because I misplaced the packaging but this is the set below.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Vf09ULWAE3E/VKCOM2DdZgI/AAAAAAAABFs/gZOyoQPE_ls/s1600/IMG_2801.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Vf09ULWAE3E/VKCOM2DdZgI/AAAAAAAABFs/gZOyoQPE_ls/s1600/IMG_2801.JPG" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
Sorry there is a glare on it but you can see the stamp that I used at the very bottom of the set. I used TH Hanging Sign Die for the sign. I colored it using Scattered Straw, then went over that lightly with Vintage Photo. I sprinkled it with water, let it dry and then went over it again with Vintage Photo. I printed the saying on computer paper, tore it to fit the sign and distressed it the same way I did the sign itself. I used a black Gelato to edge the sign. I added eyelets to the sign and then did this.....<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I put my trinket case back on the shelf and it slid off, hit the floor and spread all my brads. eyelets, buttons, keys, etc. ALL over the floor. So I swept them up and dumped them back in to be sorted at a later date. UGH! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Lastly I drew music notes using a Pitt Pen. I also drew circles at the top of the sign for chains.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>NEXT CAME THIS LITTLE CUTIE!</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I did the background using TH Scattered Straw, Broken China and Stormy Sky. I used TH Moon and Stars Die and colored them using TH Distress Paint, Scattered Straw and Wild Honey. Then I used TH Splatters stencil, an Embossing Pen and Stampendous Pirate Gold Embossing Powder to add some dimension to the moon. I also randomly outlined the stars with the embossing pen and used Stampendous Gold Tinsel Embossing Powder. I drew some dangley lines from the moon to the stars and added some bling stars that I had in my stash. The sweet little girl was also a Pinterest find,which can be found <a href="http://www.vam.ac.uk/content/journals/conservation-journal/spring-2012-issue-60/conservation-of-a-childs-fairy-costume/" target="_blank">HERE</a>. I colorized her using water color crayons, added a paper crown cut from an old Thesaurus. I managed to cut the word Moony, which I thought fit nicely. I added some bling to the crown and pearl buttons for the dress.<br />
<br />
I am very happy with both pages BUT, I am finding that Little Tommy Tucker is getting gold glitter all over himself because these pages are opposite each other in my journal!<br />

I have seen a lot of personal affirmations posted on Facebook and Pinterest. That gave me an idea of how to use some of the tags that I have made while trying new inking techniques. Below are my first three tags. This is fantastic because now I have a place to practice techniques, lettering, Zentangling, doodling and collaging on a smaller scale. I had a lot of fun and can't wait to make more of these. You could even make a small journal with pockets and add these.</div>

Anyway, for now I am off to babysit my grand kids while another one comes into this world! So much excitement!</div>

</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VJ786S3pOSA/VINJA6--4xI/AAAAAAAABC8/NHWG28TXVpA/s1600/IMG_2784.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VJ786S3pOSA/VINJA6--4xI/AAAAAAAABC8/NHWG28TXVpA/s1600/IMG_2784.JPG" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
I love how this turned out,especially since I thought I was just going to rip this page out of my journal. I don't even remember what my first attempt was, but it wasn't good! So I gessoed the page to start over but then that looked terrible. So I left it for a while contemplating whether I should give up on it or not. Then I started playing with my Gelli plate and started thinking, what am I going to do with these beautiful prints. So I started by collaging some torn pieces to the background.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-09XCGUUfUqo/VINMmXnCecI/AAAAAAAABDM/wjet15H9GHE/s1600/IMG_2780.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-09XCGUUfUqo/VINMmXnCecI/AAAAAAAABDM/wjet15H9GHE/s1600/IMG_2780.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I also used modeling paste through a stencil and when it dried I rubbed over it with Inka Gold. Then I used one of my Gelli prints and die cut it with the Sizzex Branch w/leaves.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-7GLWo0Xtq2I/VINOCTz65II/AAAAAAAABDc/CtBUNX7-hr8/s1600/IMG_2785.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-7GLWo0Xtq2I/VINOCTz65II/AAAAAAAABDc/CtBUNX7-hr8/s1600/IMG_2785.JPG" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
I used Tim Holts distress paints to color the berries on the branches.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0wbdPIdMVHI/VINOCRpu3FI/AAAAAAAABDY/YFUlbhUWVXE/s1600/IMG_2789.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0wbdPIdMVHI/VINOCRpu3FI/AAAAAAAABDY/YFUlbhUWVXE/s1600/IMG_2789.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-6LSs3lr9WJk/VINPb9pjKzI/AAAAAAAABDs/YIkoXALKKk8/s1600/IMG_2791.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-6LSs3lr9WJk/VINPb9pjKzI/AAAAAAAABDs/YIkoXALKKk8/s1600/IMG_2791.JPG" height="400" width="300" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I lightly touched the dauber of each color to the berry until I got the look I wanted. I punched two of the leaf branch die and cut and glued them to make the long stem.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-6iftrcREjZE/VINaXCF2HtI/AAAAAAAABEk/S0cQLgIbQGQ/s1600/IMG_2792.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-6iftrcREjZE/VINaXCF2HtI/AAAAAAAABEk/S0cQLgIbQGQ/s1600/IMG_2792.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
Then I used these two Martha Stewart edge punches to make the flower
trim above the lace and for the leafy stems for the orange flowers.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-6iftrcREjZE/VINaXCF2HtI/AAAAAAAABEk/S0cQLgIbQGQ/s1600/IMG_2792.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PyqYWp8zeW0/VINRzGP4KoI/AAAAAAAABD4/FusxyRhChrE/s1600/IMG_2793.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PyqYWp8zeW0/VINRzGP4KoI/AAAAAAAABD4/FusxyRhChrE/s1600/IMG_2793.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
</div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
I used Tim Holtz distress markers to color them.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
I made the flowers using TH Tattered Flowers die and TH Tattered Flower Garland dies. I secured them with a brad. The butterfly was in my stash. I made it a while ago. My sentiment was hand lettered on a card I punched from the tag punch below. I LOVE this punch and use it ALL the time.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-u6eknqR-7J0/VINUIok8XuI/AAAAAAAABEM/Oy798ZBNl9E/s1600/IMG_1282.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-u6eknqR-7J0/VINUIok8XuI/AAAAAAAABEM/Oy798ZBNl9E/s1600/IMG_1282.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I wrote the word Bliss using my Pitt pens and then I colored the tag by dragging it through Distress ink sprayed with water that I applied to my craft mat. When it dried, I flicked it with water, stamped it with brown ink and a circle stamp. I crumpled it up to distress it a little more then went over it with TH Distress Tea Dye and a blending tool so that the wrinkles would show a little better. I went around the edge with TH Distress Walnut Stain. I added a ribbon that I rubbed with TH Tea Dye. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The little girl with the bird is a picture I found on the Internet that I colorized using watercolor pencils and a water brush. I edged the page with TH Tumbled Glass.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
All in all, the page was saved and I like it!</div>

I Like It!Last week when I did my Gelli Prints I was frustrated with it. It was more that I wasn't organized with items that I would use while printing and I wasn't sure how to add more layers to a print without totally messing it up.<br />
<br />
Once I became a little more daring and just "tried" things, without worrying about the results, that is when the magic happened.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-J1U48WyD6-I/VGfXPxBNgXI/AAAAAAAABBw/bIIqPQWV5Rs/s1600/IMG_2775.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-J1U48WyD6-I/VGfXPxBNgXI/AAAAAAAABBw/bIIqPQWV5Rs/s1600/IMG_2775.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I love the dandelion stencil in these prints.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-gUP_oytOvcU/VGfXRS_6K_I/AAAAAAAABCA/BHOkM_t65OM/s1600/IMG_2776.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-gUP_oytOvcU/VGfXRS_6K_I/AAAAAAAABCA/BHOkM_t65OM/s1600/IMG_2776.JPG" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
Notice the tan background is one of the prints I did last week. I used my brick wall stencil on it. It looks great.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-0sj9GEKVN_g/VGfXQl3KHZI/AAAAAAAABB0/kl_cAO621hA/s1600/IMG_2777.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-0sj9GEKVN_g/VGfXQl3KHZI/AAAAAAAABB0/kl_cAO621hA/s1600/IMG_2777.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-D6gOylqVwYY/VGfXSIkm5XI/AAAAAAAABCI/PjDj46sA2ZQ/s1600/IMG_2778.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-D6gOylqVwYY/VGfXSIkm5XI/AAAAAAAABCI/PjDj46sA2ZQ/s1600/IMG_2778.JPG" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This is the same print as in the picture above it but I wanted a closer shot so that you could see the detail. I used the method where you let the paint dry from a previous print. Then cover the plate with another layer of paint (off white). I used pieces of torn paper across the plate for the white space. You can see the video of the technique <a href="http://youtu.be/qbltiJdS07U" target="_blank">HERE.</a> I love how it turned out. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
The colors are a little muddied on these but they are still very pretty. The bottom line is that I DO like my Gelli Plate and have had fun playing with it. I see more experimenting in my future.Madhatterzhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09590443273959301344noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2019481411138028269.post-3806223852566858892014-11-02T15:04:00.000-08:002014-11-27T10:01:49.491-08:00THE Gelli Plate!I pulled out my Gelli Plate today and played around with it. The videos that I watched sure made it look easy. I found that it required some organization skills that I didn't seem to manage. I didn't know which stencils I was going to use and I found myself digging for the right stencil while the paint was drying. I think that I need to be more prepared with my tools before I start and be a little more daring in trying new prints. I worried too much about putting on another layer for fear of ruining the layer that I already had. Anyway, these are my results, which I think are very pretty:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-t6h8_YRl-zM/VFa3XrklU1I/AAAAAAAAA_c/eC0rKysp7Ts/s1600/IMG_2757.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-t6h8_YRl-zM/VFa3XrklU1I/AAAAAAAAA_c/eC0rKysp7Ts/s1600/IMG_2757.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>

<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-DJUW0jJjuqw/VFa3YiKkBwI/AAAAAAAAA_s/cjC8BbJZVL4/s1600/IMG_2760.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-DJUW0jJjuqw/VFa3YiKkBwI/AAAAAAAAA_s/cjC8BbJZVL4/s1600/IMG_2760.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
The prints that look like roses are from a stamp I made with "Marshmallow Foam Shapes" found at Micheal's craft stores. You heat them up with a heat tool, press them into something with a pattern on it and Bingo, instant stamp. There is a tutorial of how to do this <a href="http://blog.crescendoh.com/crescendo/2012/08/foam-stamping-tutorial.html" target="_blank">HERE</a>. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I used this paper clip (also found at Michael's) to get the impression, which looks like a rose to me.<br />

That was when the weather turned nice and I was out in the garden every chance I had. The weather is turning dismal again and I am back in my craft room. My sister came up from Florida and helped me rearrange some things to make my craft room a little more organized. Organizing created more space and therefore led to a shopping spree to take up that new space. These are the new goodies:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4Bko37tSy9Y/VEg1BxuvQpI/AAAAAAAAA-Q/T03ax7_x0aU/s1600/IMG_2751.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4Bko37tSy9Y/VEg1BxuvQpI/AAAAAAAAA-Q/T03ax7_x0aU/s1600/IMG_2751.JPG" height="300" width="400" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It was hard to get a picture without the glare but I think you can see everything. I went to A. C. Moore and they had EVERYTHING in the store on sale for 40 % off and sometimes more than that. So of course more ended up in my basket than I had originally intended. The items that I am most excited about are the "Typewriter" stamps. I bought upper and lower case and can't wait to use them. (the butterfly on the package is one that I stamped on vellum and colored with markers and perfect pearls.) I added a couple new colors of acrylic paint in the hopes that I will pull out the gelli plate to make some prints. I added Tim Holtz "Autumn Gatherings" die, a "thing a ma.jig (I've wanted one of these for a while now) and I bought several stamps to add to my collection.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I can't wait to spend some good crafting time with all my new stash. In the mean time here are a few pages that I worked on but haven't posted yet.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wL9emrBdaqQ/VEg6kkXodcI/AAAAAAAAA-g/9y7y5bFY0jA/s1600/IMG_2749.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wL9emrBdaqQ/VEg6kkXodcI/AAAAAAAAA-g/9y7y5bFY0jA/s1600/IMG_2749.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I did this page a while ago. I love the stampotique stamps. I used the gold varigated flakes and a heat glue medium for the angel wings. I stamped the girl on a separate piece of paper, colored her with markers, cut her out, stamped the image on the page and glued the cutout over the stamped image. The circles were done with inka gold (in red) through a stencil and then embellished with a black Pitt pen and a white Signo pen. The angel was left unfinished for quite a while. It took me a while to be inspired before I created the "creeper". This page started as a waste page. I used it to clean my stencils or stamps. After looking at it and wondering what to do with the page, it came to me that the angel needed an admirer. So I used the same methods to create "creeper" Then stamped the words and embellished with the white Signo pen.<br />
<br />
NEXT<br />
<br />
I used this Hummingbird stamp to create the next page. <br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I stamped the image on the page and then went about doodling. I colored it using glitter pens. You can see the glitter a little better when you enlarge the picture. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/--zbd-DBQ-ls/VEg_FnmLpEI/AAAAAAAAA-0/VMEGbmWoIAw/s1600/IMG_2753.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/--zbd-DBQ-ls/VEg_FnmLpEI/AAAAAAAAA-0/VMEGbmWoIAw/s1600/IMG_2753.JPG" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>

This is the most recent page and commemorates a road trip that I took with my sister. We were "trying" to get home from Marion, Illinois and ended up going the wrong direction. We had directions from mapquest and two GPS's and we were still, going very fast in the wrong direction. The nice police officer did not give us a ticket AND pointed us in the right direction. I can't wait for the next opportunity to be on the road with my sister again.....never a dull moment.Madhatterzhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09590443273959301344noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2019481411138028269.post-84049214956522459212014-03-30T10:01:00.000-07:002014-03-30T10:03:09.040-07:00Just Playin'. <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-l19ZLa-SxJw/UzhMhckUyFI/AAAAAAAAA84/pGS1hRMlITw/s1600/IMG_1289.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-l19ZLa-SxJw/UzhMhckUyFI/AAAAAAAAA84/pGS1hRMlITw/s1600/IMG_1289.JPG" height="400" width="300" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I used a lot of different techniques on this page. I don't feel like it ever came together. I did have fun while doing it but I have to say it certainly is one of my least favorite pages.</div>
<br />Madhatterzhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09590443273959301344noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2019481411138028269.post-17323732152580135762014-03-03T14:38:00.001-08:002014-03-03T14:44:56.289-08:00Best Snow Day Ever!<br />
I had the day off due to the snow storm and I had the best creative day ever. This was so much fun to make. I took two pictures, one with the flash and one without. The flash shows the details but washes out some of the color. The one without the flash is a little darker but you see the color a little better.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-yZLxFu_GYAI/UxTxnvFT58I/AAAAAAAAA64/b5cAFxd9hf0/s1600/IMG_1279.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-yZLxFu_GYAI/UxTxnvFT58I/AAAAAAAAA64/b5cAFxd9hf0/s1600/IMG_1279.JPG" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-U6yo2MAW18g/UxTxshVbH0I/AAAAAAAAA7A/atYHFfw93sc/s1600/IMG_1280.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-U6yo2MAW18g/UxTxshVbH0I/AAAAAAAAA7A/atYHFfw93sc/s1600/IMG_1280.JPG" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
I started with my background using Tim Holtz Distress Paint " scattered straw" (one of my favorite colors". I added some stenciling using "wild honey" distress ink. I don't know the name of the stencil (sorry). Then I found the little girl in a stash of vintage photos and cut her out.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-BLtWkxisT90/UxUBcu0OqKI/AAAAAAAAA8Y/8MTcKrSWBGY/s1600/2105207474_84c6113be3_o.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-BLtWkxisT90/UxUBcu0OqKI/AAAAAAAAA8Y/8MTcKrSWBGY/s1600/2105207474_84c6113be3_o.png" height="400" width="312" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I used Tim Holtz "Angel Wings" die and colored them with tumbled glass, used a Signo pen to add dimension and distressed the edges with "vintage photo" distress ink. I found the bird and nest from a book about birds. I scanned it and cut it out.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nB2omViYmmk/UxT0USz1KdI/AAAAAAAAA7M/4QD714Y39jM/s1600/BirdNest.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nB2omViYmmk/UxT0USz1KdI/AAAAAAAAA7M/4QD714Y39jM/s1600/BirdNest.jpg" height="400" width="291" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
This is the picture I scanned. It was too big to get the whole page. But the bird and the nest were perfect for what I wanted to do. The leaves were done using the stencil technique <a href="http://youtu.be/T1YpspAwI9Y" target="_blank">here</a>. This is a close up so you can see the texture.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-B9YCPGMOLvc/UxT-y1z9iPI/AAAAAAAAA8Q/Rx1YAqxEKCA/s1600/IMG_1288.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-B9YCPGMOLvc/UxT-y1z9iPI/AAAAAAAAA8Q/Rx1YAqxEKCA/s1600/IMG_1288.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I glued the girl, the wings and the nest together and let everything dry. I used a heat tool on the texture paste leaves to help it along. Once the texture paste dried, I sprayed them with Tim Holtz Adirondack spray "Meadow". Then I glued the girl and nest to the page over top of the textured leaves. <br />
<br />
I punched a tag from scrapbook paper with old writing on it using the tag punch shown here.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-aqX4ogFf5xQ/UxT7gsTbsmI/AAAAAAAAA7k/aI6wN2F2qv4/s1600/IMG_1282.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-aqX4ogFf5xQ/UxT7gsTbsmI/AAAAAAAAA7k/aI6wN2F2qv4/s1600/IMG_1282.JPG" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
Then distressed it with "tea dye". I went around the edge with "walnut stain" but that didn't seem to make it pop so I used "black soot". I glued a violet on that I had in my stash for a long time. I either got them at Michael's or Joanne's. They are very fragile. After the glue dried, I went over the whole tag with Tim Holtz "Rock candy" crackle paint.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-wag5NxJGjvM/UxT4i7dy7yI/AAAAAAAAA7Y/yG-JfyeoyyI/s1600/IMG_1281.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-wag5NxJGjvM/UxT4i7dy7yI/AAAAAAAAA7Y/yG-JfyeoyyI/s1600/IMG_1281.JPG" height="400" width="300" />. ,</a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-r9CMU2oPaAA/UxT8rf7EvPI/AAAAAAAAA74/dmL0C-I9SQ8/s1600/IMG_1285.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-r9CMU2oPaAA/UxT8rf7EvPI/AAAAAAAAA74/dmL0C-I9SQ8/s1600/IMG_1285.JPG" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
This is a close up of the tag. You can see a little more detail. It is reallllly beautiful. I'm not sure the picture does it justice. I stapled the tag with a scrap of old lace to the page.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XAfq_u7VZt0/UxT-xnU9dvI/AAAAAAAAA8E/zPztDMol6cI/s1600/IMG_1286.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XAfq_u7VZt0/UxT-xnU9dvI/AAAAAAAAA8E/zPztDMol6cI/s1600/IMG_1286.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The border at the top was using a Martha Stewart edge punch from scrapbook paper. I also used distress inks on it so that it blended with the page. I cut the eggs from a picture in my stash. I used "Pumice Stone" distress pen to go around things to help them stand out a bit. <br />
<br />
The flowers were made using Tim Holtz "Tattered Flower Garland" die. I cut them from white card stock and colored them with Tim Holtz distress Pens. <br />
<br />
I LOVE how this page turned out. Now I am inspired and have all these ideas in my head but it is back to work tomorrow. Hopefully I can stay inspired till the next chance I get to play!!!!!<br />
